A New Jacob for Twilight?

In the Twilight world, Bella’s oldest and best friend is the werewolf Jacob Black. In the movie version Jacob was played by Taylor Lautner and he is the youngest cast member and looks quite young in the film.

This does present a bit of a problem because in New Moon, Jacob supposedly makes the werewolf transition and shoots up over 6 feet tall and looks to be in his late twenties. I guess the question is… can Taylor Lautner pull it off? There are doubts… and in the press release announcing New Moon would start filming there was no mention of Lautner.

Who may be cast instead? Well, many die hard Twilight fans have always believed the best person to play Jacob Black was/is/and will always be Steven Straight…I am one of them. He is the only one that can give Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) a run for his money. I loved him in The Covenant and 10,000 BC.

Another prospective might be Michael Copon. Well, at least he says so on his MySpace page. Personally I don’t see it.

I feel really badly that Lautner might get axed but I can’t be sad for too long if they cast Steven Straight.
