Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning reported became very close friends while filming the Twilight sequel New Moon together in Montepulciano, Italy this summer. Now it seems the two are even closer. The two are starring together in a biopic about the life of female rocker Joan Jett called “The Runaways.” Kristen portrays Jett at a young age, and Dakota stars as singer Cherie Curie. In the movie, Kristen and Dakota have an intense girl-on-girl kissing scene that results in their clothes being cast aside according to Life and Style magazine. Kristen Stewart is impressed with Dakota Fanning’s maturity as an actress. Referring to their kissing scene, Stewart says, “Dakota’s very controlled and poised. She’s going to have to lose herself in this because it’s pretty heavy.”

Cam Gigandet, who portrayed mean vampire James in Twilight, was honored at this year’s Young Hollywood Awards. Gigandet was recognized for his roles in Never Back Down and Twilight in the One to Watch category.

Dakota Fanning, who will portray Volturi guard member Jane in the Twilight sequel New Moon, was also honored. She was recognized as the Hottest Coolest Young Veteran Actress.

Kellan Lutz, Emmet Cullen in the Twilight series, was in the audience.

Update: Dakota Fanning is a confirmed cast member of New Moon!

The young, talented, and beautiful actress Dakota Fanning has confirmed that she has been involved in discussions about playing Jane in the upcoming film New Moon. Jane is a childlike yet vicious vampire member of the Volturi with some special powers that others find quite “painful”.

“It’s definitely possible. I really hope it works out,” Fanning told Hitfix.com while promoting her latest flick Push. “It would be a really fantastic experience I’m sure.”

Director Chris Weitz is so confident that Fanning is right for the part, he offered it to without even an audition. Filming of the much-anticipated flick begins in March in the U.S. and Italy.
